We will be having a backyard cookout at Bart and Mara Hedgcock's home in the Irving area on Saturday, October 28th, at 4pm. That's a bye week for the Illini, so we will all get a chance to chat and enjoy some social time rather than all gathering to yell at the television! 
All food will be provided - burgers with all the fixings, side dishes, and desserts - and all we ask is that guests contribute $10 per person in advance. Also, please let us know if you prefer a vegetarian patty. Any proceeds above the cost of food will go to the club's general fund, which provides for group activities as well as scholarships.
Bring your own chairs, and drinks are BYOB. While some cooler space may be available, we suggest bringing your own to ensure it can be kept cool.
The back yard has a fair amount of tree shade, and a few shade canopies will also be set up, but if anyone has an easy-up shade canopy they would like to bring in case we want more, that would be welcome. We may or may not need it, but as we all know, it can still get pretty hot here in late October, especially in the sun.
In the event of rain, Bart and Mara do have inside space where they would be willing to host everyone.
We will have door prizes and The Alumni Association is also providing a football signed by Coach Bielema, which will be awarded to a lucky attendee by random drawing!
Please RSVP by Friday, October 20th to dpetsrillo@gmail.com. Payment details will be sent to attendees later. In order to encourage RSVPs for planning purposes, the per-person cost will be $15 if you just show up on the day of the cookout.
